There once was a movie theater to the left of this area right at the rivers edge. I remember as a child that I was worried the movie house would fall in the water during the movie due to the drastic slant down from the lobby to my seat.
Yes, it was the Wicomico Theater and was torn down and yes it sat too close to the water. Had lobby upstairs where only Negroes could sit; were not allowed on first floor of theater. Was very popular movie theater for young people on weekend dates.
