Oh my! Turned that corner with my Dad driving so many times. He would drop me off at the Ulman Theatre for Saturday matinee before I got old enough to walk thereby myself with friends.
Watson's had an honest-to-goodness soda bar where the attendant would jerk the handle to put carbonated water in a glass with ice cream to make an ice cream soda. That action may be why they were called "Soda Jerks."
We went there in 1962 to get a cigar as a present for someone. We asked for the most expensive cigar they had. It cost fifty cents- as much as two packs of cigarettes.
There was a cool record booth in the back where you could put on headphones and spin the latest hits. Takes me back.
